Principal Construction Tool
Challenge
This project started with a "really compelling spreadsheet" that the product owner had put together. Advisors stated, "If this is so great, prove it." The spreadsheet was not the right answer. It had to be easier to understand.
Solution
A quick deep dive into the data told a story but needed a translator. The solution started with asking the right questions. People were prompted to answer questions using checkboxes. When they submitted the information, they viewed a dynamically generated report with charting and a simple layout on the first page. If they wanted to fine-tune the answers, sliders were available for further exploration.
Results
The sales team was energized. The sophisticated tool fit into their existing sales toolset. The solution was incorporated in digital campaigns as well as in-person presentations. The tool was fast and elegant, which allowed for the presentation to be more of a conversation. This supported a consultative sales approach, and if internal designers would have generated the reports, it would have saved hours of repetitious work.
